‘Meme’ Stocks Occupy Wall Street

For once in stock market history, earnings of major corporations, such as Microsoft ($MSFT) and Apple Inc. ($AAPL), were not the top headline. Instead, the incredible short squeezes of GameStop ($GME) and AMC Entertainment ($AMC) took the top spot; #HoldTheLine was trending on Twitter this past week as retail and individual traders were showing their frustration since buying restrictions were placed on multiple brokerages. Even if you did not trade a ‘meme’ stock, they have impacted the overall soundness of the market.
